Hobart Chargers announce two key signings

The Telstra Hobart Chargers today announced the resigning of Deba George for the 2013 season and new import Larry Williams Jr.

The Telstra Hobart Chargers today announced the resigning of Deba George for the 2013 season. Deba rejoins the team after coming in mid way through the 2012 season. Deba quickly become a crowd favourite. Deba averaged 33.64 minutes per game, where he averaged  40% from the  floor and 47% from behind the arc, 79% foul shooter averaging 16.1 points per game.

The Telstra Hobart Chargers  are also pleased to announce that Larry Williams Jr has been signed to fill the second import spot behind  Jordan Gregg. Larry who comes to us from Arkansas averaged 12.4 points and 2.2 assists will fill the point guard position. Born in 1986 and 6ft-3inches 90 kg.

A combo guard with a wide range of skills. Creates open shots for his teammates every possession. Excellent penetrator and finisher looks to set up teammates and can get any shot he wants. Very good mid-range and three point shooter. Strong, physical guard with good athleticism can play above the rim. Ball hawking defender who likes to apply full court pressure and takes advantage of every offensive misstep by his opponent.

Head Coach Anthony Stewart is confident that Larry will be an excellent fit to the team. With Jordan Gregg and Deba George now locked away the Chargers are looking to fill the other positions on the team for 2013.

Telstra Hobart Chargers will play their first home game on March 22nd against the Brisbane Spartans.
