Doing maximum damage in limited amount of time on the floor has been Barcelona Regal center Nate Jawai’s calling card all season. Such was the case again Thursday, as he needed just 18 minutes to leave a major impact on Barcelona’s Euroleague series-clinching 64-53 victory over Panathinaikos Athens. In doing so, Jawai became the Playoffs Game 5 bwin MVP. The Australian center collected 9 points on perfect shooting, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks for a performance index rating of 21 – the most among all Game 5 players. It marked the second time this season that Jawai has collected the title after previously winning Top 16 Game 13 bwin MVP honors. The week’s second-best index came from one of Jawai’s opposing big men, Stephane Lasme of Panathinaikos Athens. Lasme tallied 16 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks for an index rating of 20. Rounding out the Game 5 leaders are Olympiacos Piraeus’s duo of Georgios Printezis and Vassilis Spanoulis. In their team’s 82-72 victory over Anadolu Efes, Printezis had 15 points, 7 rebounds and a 19 index; Spanoulis finished with 19 points, 5 assists and an 18 index.
