Jimmer Fredette may have not become the NBA star that many people expected him to be, but he’s not hanging up the basketball sneakers anytime soon. In an interview with The Post Star, Fredette said that he’s training himself in the 3-on-3 basketball setting, with the purpose of potentially joining the US team in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Fredette, who is now 33 years of age, believes that he could still make a huge impact on the basketball court. Selected 10th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft, Fredette was primed to become an excellent scoring point guard in the league. But he wasn’t able to carve his niche in the NBA, bouncing from one team to the other in his six-year NBA career. The 6-foot-2 guard only put up 6.0 points in his NBA stint, playing for a number of teams, namely the Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, Phoenix Suns, and New York Knicks.

Along with playing in the NBA, Jimmer Fredette also had stints in international leagues. In 2016, he played in the Chinese Basketball Association, suiting up for the Shanghai Sharks for multiple seasons. He became a three-time All-Star in the CBA and was named the CBA International Most Valuable Player in 2017. Fredette also signed with Panathinaikos, appearing in the Greek Basket League and the EuroLeague.

Fredette also joined TBT (The Basketball Tournament), recently playing for The Money Team just this year. It remains to be seen if he could still have a return path to the NBA, but an Olympic stint is not that bad, either.
