Ibrahim Jaaber inks deal with BC Zaligiris Kauna
Ibrahim Jaaber (1.87m, college: UPenn) has inked a contract with BC Zalgiris Kauna (Lithuania-LKL) to play in the Euroleague in 2012-13. Jaaber enjoyed a stellar collegiate career at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was twice named Ivy League Player of the Year (2006 & 2007). He averaged 18.2 points per game as a junior and 15.9 points per game as a senior. In 2007 he inked his first professional contract, signing with Egaleo AO (Greece-B). He averaged 22.4 points per game in 15 games and was picked up by Virtus Roma (Italy-SerieA) in February of 2008 to finish the season. That year he averaged 7.5 points per game in the Euroleague and 7.8 in Italy’s Serie A. Jaaber stayed with Virtus Roma through the 2009-10 campaign and was picked up by Armani Jeans Milano (Italy-SerieA) where he average 11.7 points per game in Serie A and 10.8 in Euroleague competition. He was picked up by the Houston Rockets in the summer of 2011, but was released from training camp. His recent signing with BC Zalgiris Kauna comes after taking a year off.
