Greek Basketball league suspended.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has announced a three-week lockdown that will start at 06.00 ‘o clock in the morning on Saturday the 7th of November.

Among the many measures, all sports in the country will be suspended, including basketball. However, there is still some confusion about this. The Greek teams are asking for clarification from the government, so this is a developing story. For now, it is sure and confirmed that an exception is made for international games such as the Euroleague, Basketball Championsleague, and Eurocup.

Under the new countrywide restrictions to take effect from Saturday, retail businesses will be shut except for supermarkets and pharmacies. Greeks will need a permit to venture outdoors at allocated times. Primary schools will stay open, but high schools will shut down.

Greece follows other leagues that have also been suspended like the Czech NBL, Dutch Basketball League, French Pro A, Pro B, N1, and the Luxemburg Total League.
