Davon Jefferson signs with Enisey

Davon JeffersonDavon Jefferson (204 cm, University of Southern California’07) has joined Enisey Krasnoyarsk (Russia-PBL) for the remainder of the season. Jefferson is an accomplished scorer and has been highly successful at every level that he’s played at, from High School in Souther California and North Carolina, to his one season with USC and into the various European leagues that he’s played in. As a freshman on the USC squad, he scored 12.1 points per game over 29 contests and then declared himself in the 2008 NBA Draft. He went undrafted, so he took his skills to Europe and signed with Maccabi Haifa Heat (Israel-Premier League), spending two seasons with the club. In 2008-09 he averaged 16.7ppg and 7.9rpg, over 28 games, finishing fifth in the league in rebounds per game average. In 2009-10 he improved both marks, moving up to 17.2ppg and 8.2rpg over 26 games and improving to the second spot in rebounding. Jefferson was signed by ASVEL Lyon (France-ProA) in 2010-11, finishing second in the ProA with an 18.5ppg average and second in the four game Euroleague qualifying games with 7.3 rebounds per game. Last season he moved over to the Russian PBL with Triumph Lyubertsy and led the lead with a 20.3ppg average in 22 games. He was picked up by Guangzhou Liu Sui Whampoa of the Chinese Basketball League in June to help them finish the season and averaged 18.0 points and 14.0 rebounds in two games.
