Brian Shaw, new Nuggets head coach

Brian Shaw

Brian Shaw is slated to take over as the new head coach of the Denver Nuggets. For a few years now Shaw has made the short list of candidates to fill head coaching vacancies around the NBA. Finally, he will get a chance to prove himself at the helm of the young Denver Nuggets. He does have some big shoes to fill though, as his predecessor George Karl won the 2013 Coach-of-the-Year award and was able to take the Nuggets to new heights. Most of the team that Karl led to the Playoffs remains intact. The team’s priority is now to secure the services of impending free agent Andre Iguodala (198 cm, Arizona’04).

Shaw was an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers 2005 to 2011, learning under the great Phil Jackson. In 2011 up until the present he was an associate head coach with the Indiana Pacers before landing this job with the Nuggets.
