Besiktas JK inks Guler, Ozer, Christopher

Besiktas JK Istanbul added three players to its roster by inking sharp shooter Cehver Ozer, swingman Patrick Christopher and guard Muratcan Guler. Christopher (1.96 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Cholet Basket, where he averaged 12.8 points and 2.4 rebounds in 26 French League games last season. He helped Cholet to reach the semifinals in all three domestic competitions – French League, French Cup and Semaine des As. Christopher finished his career at the University of California and played for Antalya Buyuksehir Belediye before joining Cholet. Ozer (2.06 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Galatasaray Medical Park, where he averaged 3.6 points in 18 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. He played five consecutive seasons for Besiktas, from 2006 to 2011, averaging 12.4 points and 5.6 rebounds in 7 Eurocup games in 2010-11. Ozer has also played for Darussafaka and Turk Telekom, as well as being a member of the Turkish national team. Guler (1.92 meters, 32 yeras old) arrives from Turk Telekom, where he averaged 7.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals in 29 Turkish League games last season. Guler also played for Besiktas in the past, from 1999 to 2001 and from 2008 to 2010. He has also played for Ulker, ITU, Pinar Karsiyaka, and Antalya, as well as for the Turkish national team. He helped Ulker to win the Turkish Cup in 2004 and lift that trophy again with Telekom in 2008.
