Bernard James heads to Shanghai Sharks

Former NBA big man Bernard James (208 cm, Florida State’12) is headed to Asia to begin his international career after being released by the Dallas Mavericks. He will now be joining Yao Ming’s Shanghai Dongfang Sharks (China-CBA). He was set to be assigned to the Frisco Texas Legends (USA-D-League), the player found a match with the Chinese club, looking to strengthen its frontcourt this 2014-15.

In 2013-14 James played a total of 32 games for the Mavericks, but he saw very little run and managed to average just 0.9 ppg and 1.3 rpg. He was briefly assigned to the Texas Legends that season as well, playing just one game where he scored 38 points while grabbing 18 rebounds.
