Andray Blatche heads to Xinjiang

Andray Blatche

Andray Blatche (211 cm) will continue his professional career with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers (China-CBA) this 2014-15 season. Blatche is an American player who also holds a Philippine passport. Despite dealing with some minor injuries Andray was one of the more inspiring performers at the FIBA World Cup 2014, playing for Philippine team Gilas Pilipinas. After being denied the opportunity to represent the Philippines in the Asian Games due to him not fulfilling their three-year residency tenure requirement, he flew to the US after the World Cup and met with a couple of NBA teams. Blatche has opted to join forces with the 2014 Chinese CBA finalists instead of continuing his NBA career. His contract with the club does allow him to head to the NBA if he so chooses. In 2013-14 Andray played for the Brooklyn Nets and averaged 10.4 ppg and 5.3 rpg.
